Dressmaking Tuesday PM Jan

THE CLASS
Tuesday afternoon dressmaking with Lareen is a friendly 5-week dressmaking course to learn how to create beautiful, handmade garments with confidence. Each session begins with a warm, inclusive goal-setting chat, where learners can share what they’d like to achieve that day. Whether it’s tackling a tricky zip, cutting a pattern, or just threading your machine, you will feel supported to learn at your own pace in a relaxed, welcoming space. Throughout the class you will be working independently on your chosen project, with Lareen on hand to answer your individual questions. What could I learn? How to read and use a sewing pattern - Understanding how to prepare your pattern - Costings and fabric layouts - Using your sewing machine and overlocker - Assembling and sewing garments - Bespoke fitting - Alterations - Pattern cutting - Professional finishing techniques. What should I bring? A commercial sewing pattern (guidance can be provided) - Suitable fabric and notions (zips, thread, etc.) - Your own sewing machine. Any questions can be emailed to Lareen before the first lesson. By working on your own chosen project and using your own sewing machine, you will gain confidence and independence in dressmaking. Hope to see you on a course soon.
