Lareen
With a lifelong love of sewing and a warm, open approach to teaching, Lareen brings creativity, skill, and joy to everything she does. Whether she’s guiding a class, tailoring a garment, or creating artwork, her passion for craft is at the heart of it all.

Teaching & Tutoring
Lareen has been sharing her skills with learners of all levels for over a decade.

Since 2019, Lareen has lectured on the Fashion and Textiles course at Farnborough College of Technology, specialising in pattern cutting and garment construction. The college provides outstanding facilities and vocational training, helping students progress from age 14+ through to higher education.

Since 2013, Lareen has also taught with Learning in Libraries, delivering a range of in-person and online courses such as Sewing for Happiness and Mindful Pattern Cutting. Her sessions focus on skill-building, wellbeing, and creative confidence in a friendly, inclusive setting.
Industry Experience
Lareen built her technical expertise during her time in the fashion industry, starting her career at Smith & Brown in London as a pattern cutter. She collaborated with well-known brands such as Next, Debenhams and John Lewis, gaining hands-on experience in garment construction, design development, and commercial production. This early role laid the foundation for her long-standing career in fashion and sewing.

Generations of experience
Lareen’s wealth of sewing knowledge has been lovingly passed down through generations of inspiring women — from her grandmother to her mother, and now to her. This inherited passion continues to spark creativity in the next generation through her teaching and practice.
